Fashionista

SO...Bravo TV's show "Top Design" is now into their eighth week (Episode 8 airs this Wednesday), and although I've not been a faithful watcher (I just don't watch that much tv!) I had to check the Bravo website just to see what Kelly Wearstler was up to - outfit wise, not design wise! (Okay, actually, I have to admit I did watch Season 1 but that was only because a designer I used to work for was on that show.) After seeing Kelly Wearstler's outfits on the first season, I was intrigued to check back to see what she was up to for Season 2. No comment. But please feel free to leave your comments! :)

If someone is labeled as trendsetter I guess you have to do what you have to do. At least you are talked about. Actually (I don’t watch series at all –here in Australia) but judging from the pictures it is not so bad (exempt episode 5 bad hair day)!????

i LOVE it! she's rich and beautiful, so why not have a little fun with the wardrobe? so few celebrities are willing to take risks these days, so i admire her for going for it on such a public forum.

nice counterpoint to the ever-so-tasteful margaret russell and the uber-chic india hicks, too.

rock it out, kelly!

Bad. Bad. Bad. Bad. And Bad. I know I am not the only one who thinks she looks crazy. The hair is very aging, too. She is beautiful when she isn't trying so hard to be fashionable. I still love her, though!

Kelly is scaring me with some of the outfits she wears this season. Last season, I liked her outfits but that pointy Carman Miranda hat has got to go!

Funny you should ask, just this weekend I noted to myself that if Kelly came to my home to work, I would dispatch her away from the doorstep! While I can understand from her work why so is so well respected, I find it difficult to take her seriously. I have never thought that abusing style for the sake of having style at all is actually - stylish. That aside, some of her remarks really do give me pause to look more deeply into a room...

Oh my......
While I love many of the rooms that Kelly has done, I have to say that I found her guest bungalow featured in Domino this month to be hideous -- I mean, I just didn't get it at all.

I'm sorry I have to comment on my own blog....Kelly looks like a homeless bag lady in episode 3....and it's too bad because I saw episode 1 and she looked really pretty!

It's hard to believe this was once her- http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/6/61259/24_2008/2007-04-kwearstler.jpg

Although I have to give her props for going out on a limb!

Oh, yes. Her outfit last week was THE best! Seriously! My young daughter has collected the little Barbie Wizard of Oz people, and Kelly looked just like one of the Munchkins in last week's get-up.

I think it's very distracting!

she's a great model actually but i have to admit her fashion in top design this season so far is over done, maybe she's thinking catwalk-ing (?)

You know, it would be funny to dress up as Kelly for Halloween, but I don't think my non-design loving friends would get it. LOL!

I give her credit for doing something different and unique in fashion. And she is beautiful so it works somehow. Her hair is the thing that kills me. It is out of control!

She is one of the ONLY reasons why I tune in for that show. I think most of us would love to have her confidence ... um, well, maybe not THAT much confidence! ;)

I don't get Bravo on my cheap basic cable ha ha, so thanks for the post.
Kelly is so crazy!
The best photo ever published on a blog of Kelly was by Decorno, when she found Kelly's Playboy photo!
I love a girl who is confident, original, kooky, and unafraid.

I agree with maison 21! I actually think she's one of the nicest of the judges, so she can get away with it. Maybe I just like her because she's from the south, but she dresses very artistically (and art isn't always pretty).

I admire her sense of adventure and risk-taking but yeah it's quite over the top and I would be caught off guard if I saw her in those get-ups in real life!

That being said, I do like how her use of colour, pattern and asymetry in her desigs is just as evident in her fashion sense- it makes her an all-around character
